Okonkwo grows fond of a sporting boy Ikemefuna, simply his strong personality gets in the fashion when he is told to kill him. This novel shows the drastic rise and refund of the great warrior Okonkwo. Okonkwo?s first prominent flaw is his cultism of failure, which is greatly influenced by his father, Unoka, a very lazy and carefree man. Which in the end brings about his own destruction. Ashamed of his father, anything he enjoyed or was related to, Okonkwo saw as weak and unnecessary. Unoka, the grown-up, was a failure. He was poor and his wife and children had barely enough to eat. Even though, Okonkwo develops a maternal love for Ikemefuna, he goes to Ikemefunas killing and stabs him to death only because he doesnt want to be viewed as weak. Okonkwo admires and loves his family very much precisely doesnt show it, as he holds all his emotions after part a barrier.
